Summary of Interview: Christophe Guyard confirmed that v-Sentry, the Web and XML gateway launched by Bee Ware early 2007, has clearly filled a need but mainly with the bigger organisations who are well the way to the use of SOA. At the same time, 4 years after the arrival of Bee Ware in the application security market, it's obvious that the confusion between network security and web application security is still rife, and communication to get the message across is not enough to do the job. Proving that vulnerabilities exist is essential. Bee Ware has launched i-Watch for the specific task of analysing web applications to obtain an application map and assess the areas of weakness that need attention. At the same time Bee Ware's support of the OWASP is an additional way of getting the application security message through. The OWASP is not yet really well-known in France and their work is important for organisations to grasp the difference between network security and application security. Asked about the Infosecurity show, Christophe Guyard said he'd noticed a move away from fragmented processes and towards globalisation in security offers.
